Welcome to my practice.
I believe it is possible to heal from almost any affliction that hinders someone from living a meaningful life, even when it seems impossible. How you and I work on that healing will be specifically tailored to what you need. In general, I use a variety of time tested approaches including cognitive behavioral tools (CBT), psychodynamic methods, as well as a humanistic, insight-oriented approach. I work with you as a whole person in your life context, not just symptoms you may have. I have extensive clinical experience working with a wide range of age groups including early/middle/late childhood, adulthood, and the phase of life in between called adolescence. I obtained specialized training in clinical areas such as anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodevelopmental disorders, grief, and relational issues. I completed predoctoral training at Children’s Institute Inc. (CII) an APA-accredited internship program focused on evidence-based practices. I then pursued advanced training at Reiss Davis Child Study Center, an accredited postdoctoral fellowship program focused on diagnostic and therapeutic services for families from a psychodynamic perspective. I earned a psychology doctorate (Psy.D.) from William James College in Newton, Massachusetts. William James College strives to be a preeminent school of psychology with core values of experiential education, social responsibility, and personal growth. I was fortunate to be awarded the Cynthia Lucero Scholarship for exhibiting a strong dedication and commitment to the delivery of human services to the Latino community. Previously, I earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees (B.A.s) from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in Psychology and Law & Society. I practice in both English and Spanish languages. I am working as a Psychological Associate (PSB 94028082) under the supervision of Dr. Bennett Williamson (PSY 16172).
