My style of practice draws upon your personal strengths and experiences to help work through the challenges you are currently experiencing. The primary aim of our work together is to help achieve your personal goals by identifying existing resources, increasing awareness, and improving resiliency. To do this, I borrow from various approaches including psychodynamic theory, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and existential models, all to aid in the development of a plan that is tailored to meet your needs. I understand that life can bring about challenging events and unique circumstances, and no one person fits neatly into any particular theory.
I have lived in a number of different areas throughout southern California as well as in Mexico. As a result, I have been exposed to a wide range of cultures, lifestyles, and family make-ups, all of which have deeply strengthened the level of respect I have for people from all walks of life and influenced my work as a therapist. I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of California, Riverside, where I studied Psychology, Law, and Society. I earned my doctoral degree in Clinical Forensic Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, a widely respected program. I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced a variety of challenges ranging from relationship issues, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I provide direct services in English and Spanish. Some other areas of personal interest to me include mindfulness, positive psychology, and neuroscience.
